Dr. Garm received a BS degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and his MD degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He initially completed two years of Psychiatry residency before entering the Air Force full time as a Flight Surgeon in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Dr. Garm then completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and completed his military obligation while in Dayton. Dr. Garm is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and has been a practicing physician with Eastern Carolina Emergency Physicians since 1992. Dr. Garm's primary practice location is Cape Fear Hospital here in Wilmington. His hobbies include singing, playing guitar, running, weight training, sailing, skiing, bicycling, hiking and nature study.
